Gloss varnish is essential for two key jobs: sealing and protecting delicate finishes like decals, chipping, and pigment work, and creating specific visual effects — from wet, glossy surfaces (vehicle canopies, wet roads, liquids) to a base layer for glazing and oil paint techniques, which flow more smoothly over a gloss coat. It’s also the go-to choice before applying decals, since a glossy surface prevents silvering.
